Devas' Lounge

Located in the lobby of the InterContinental Phuket Resort, Devas’ Lounge is a luxurious venue that offers up views of tranquil gardens, Kamala’s jungle-clad mountains and the resort’s stunning Sawan. With an elegant vibe, plenty of seating and a menu of expertly baked sweet treats, Devas’ Lounge is an essential visit in the Kamala Beach neighbourhood.

We stop by Devas’ Lounge on a busy Saturday afternoon, and decide to try an assortment of sweets and savouries from the menu. We order Quiche Lorraine, Exotic Carrot dry cake, a Maritozzi Classic Vanilla pastry and Wild Strawberry Cheesecake. We sip on assorted coffee drinks and teas including the lounge’s Cold Brew Coffee, which is a farm to cup concept as Devas’ Lounge works directly with Thai coffee farmers and roasters.

The sweets and savouries arrive together, and after taking a few photos to spruce up our Instagram accounts, we dig in. Topped with Beluga Caviar, the Quiche Lorraine is a classic dish and satisfies our cravings for gooey cheese. Truth be told, we inhale the quiche before moving on to the cakes.

With chef Wa at its helm, Devas’ Lounge continues to excel when it comes to crafting decadent cakes. The Exotic Carrot dry cake was stacked high and had a lush, creamy icing that was not too sugary, while the Wild Strawberry Cheesecake was simply divine; we were told that the secret to this cake’s flavour is Mascarpone.

The Maritozzi Classic Vanilla, which is essentially an Italian sweet cream bun, was so light and fluffy and the vanilla cream had a well-balanced flavour.

For those looking for something a bit more special than the à la carte menu, I highly recommend tucking into the luxurious Afternoon Tea, which is served daily from 12:00 noon until 5pm. Guests can choose Thai wild-grown tea or cold brew coffee, or go a bit fancy with a bottle of bubbly. The Afternoon Tea is fantastic, and served in an elegant bird cage.

In addition to its sweets and savouries menu, the tasty teas and robust coffees, Devas’ Lounge offers adult beverages, local and craft brews, Fever Tree soft drinks, and fresh juices. There truly is something for every appetite at Devas’ Lounge.

Devas’ Lounge is open daily from 8:00am-10:00pm, and reservations are highly recommended. Parking is available on-site.
